If the clamps don’t provide a solid, stable connection to the battery terminals – with PLENTY of contact between the metal of the clamps and the terminals – then you get poor testing, poor jump starting, poor charging, depending on which product you’re using. If you’re likely to perform fairly regular tests,or you’re a professional user with need for the most accurate testing, the BT200 is the better option.

• Upgraded testing accuracy. In our analysis, we found the BT200 to be very accurate in the vast majority of tests. The BT100 is also accurate but not at the same level as the BT200. • Easier to use overall. The menu navigation, finding the right kind of test, checking previous test results. All these things are easier with the BT200.
• The color LCD screen makes it easier to interpret your results. There’s a very simple green bar section for Good, and a red bar section for Bad.
• Apart from the color, the BT200’s screen is brighter and easier to see as you navigate between pages. The font and layout of the text is much improved compared to the BT100. All these things together mean greater usability. If you’re tracking test results over time, having an extremely clear and more readable display is a significant help.
• also works with 24V batteries (the BT100 is for 12V batteries only). If you believe you’ll only ever need the tester for your car or truck, then 12V testing is all you’ll need (amost all vehicle batteries are 12V, only extremely large trucks and trailers have 24V batteries).
