Gooloo vs NOCO Jump Starters

Welcome to Gooloo vs NOCO, where we’ll be checking out two of the world’s most successful brands of jump starter.

Since you’re here, you’re probably either in urgent, dire need of a jump box to kick start a struggling car battery that keeps letting you down. Or you just want to be prepared and make sure you don’t get caught out with a battery dying on you when you need it most.

AAA, who gets tens of millions of roadside calls every year, has reported that dead batteries are the number one cause of breakdowns, beating out flat tires and lockouts. Typically, each year around 25-30% of all roadside assitance calls are for breakdowns caused by battery failure.

NOCO and Gooloo are both equipped to help you out with this. Since lithium, and specifically lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4), became the safest and most powerful material with which to power a jump box, these are perhaps the two best makers of jump starters in the world.

But that brings us to a question: who is better, Gooloo or NOCO?

We’ll review both companies, check out their relative strengths and weaknesses, evaluate their various products, and ultimately come to a conclusion about which jump starter brand is best.

Let’s get on with it then.

Gooloo vs NOCO

Comparing the NOCO and Gooloo Jump Packs

We’ll begin with a comparison of the brands’ status and reputation. From this, you’ll get an idea which is the more reputable company to purchase from.

We’ll then check out the product reviews. This is the broad picture, you’ll see how well their whole stable of products are reviewed. From this, you’ll get a picture of the product quality and how well they work in practice, for a large number of people.

Finally, we’ll actually look at the products head-to-head, showing exactly which products match up closely with each other, allowing you to easily compare and choose between models.

After this comprehensive review and comparison of both Gooloo and NOCO jump starters, you’ll know which brand and which model meets your needs.

Brand Reputation

Let’s start by saying that NOCO pass the namecheck test. They’re the more renowned and well-established automotive brand, perhaps even the best known brand for jump starters specifically, even though some very large automotive brands offer battery boosters as part of their extensive product range. NOCO are the biggest brand that are highly focused on jump starters as their main market, you could say.

Gooloo don’t have the same history or prestige, but it must be noted that they have steadily gained an excellent reputation in automotive circles in the last 5 or 6 years.

Here at Car Battery Nerd, we take account of brand prestige, but we’re not blinded by it. We take a straight look at the quality of the product and how well it works in practice, in our own personal experience and in analysing a very wide range of brand and product factors.

What does this data tell us? Well, it backs up what we said in the introduction to this section. NOCO are the bigger brand, they’ve been around a lot longer. And they have the social media following to match.

Gooloo’s following is smaller but their total number of Facebook followers is actually as much as half that of NOCO. They have grown quickly in a relatively small amount of time. That’s in large part due to their jump starter sales, which have been huge in the last few years. And so they have added plenty of fans who appreciate the quality of their products.

Customer Reviews & Feedback

Both Gooloo and NOCO have superb averages for their product reviews, across their whole jump starter ranges.

As evidence for the popularity of these two brands, the top 50 best sellers on Amazon contains 8 NOCO boosters and 4 Gooloo boosters.

We collated the online marketplace reviews for these models and below we present the results:

Percentage of reviews that are 5-star80%80%
Average Rating4.54.5

*Data collected by Car Battery Nerd; correct to 21st October 2026

As you can see, both companies have exceptionally good reviews across their jump starter ranges. Both have an average rating of 4.5, and a massive 80% of all reviews are 5-star.

These are not normal results, particularly across a whole range, and from many tens of thousands of reviews.

It must be noted that although the averages are the same across both brands, NOCO have a lot more reviews – 10 times more, in fact. That makes their results even more impressive.

Kudos to Gooloo, though. They haven’t been around as long, but judging by these results their product quality and customer service are matching up well to NOCO.

In this category of Gooloo vs NOCO we’re calling it a draw.

Product Head to Head Comparison

Let’s now get to the crux of the Gooloo vs NOCO comparison. Let’s see how their models stack up against each other in a head-to-head battle.

We’ll be comparing like with like, so we’ve selected the models that most closely match in NOCO and Gooloo’s jump pack ranges.

Gooloo GP2000 vs. NOCO GB70

Both models have peak starting power of 2000A,

The Gooloo GP2000 has double the capacity, at 10,000mAh. That means it can store more charge, and therefore is likely to last longer in your trunk, compared to the NOCO GB70.

The Gooloo model is almost 4lb lighter and much, much, smaller.

Both models have a superb average rating from consumers, of 4.6. But the NOCO product is more impressive in this regard, since this rating is across 31k reviews, compared to 1.5k for the Gooloo booster.

The GB70 is around 3-4 times the price of the GP2000.

NOCO GB70

If you have a small-engined vehicle, say below 2L, and you’ve picked NOCO, we’ve compared the GB40, GBX45, and GB70 just for you.

Let’s check out the next head-to-head, looking at battery boosters in the 3000A category.

Gooloo GP3000 vs. NOCO GB150

Once again, the Gooloo model has a larger battery capacity and longer standby time, compared the equivalent NOCO model.

The GB150 has a more powerful light, but is a fair bit heavier and larger.

Both have outstanding customer reviews. The NOCO reviews are, once again, across a much larger number of people, but the Gooloo GP3000 has a higher average, an exceptional 4.7.

We’re now starting to get some mighty powerful beasts. Here are the ~4000A range jump starters.

Gooloo GT4000S vs. NOCO GBX155

These are two models in the ~4000A range. The GBX155 has peak power 4250A, a little more than the GT4000S’s 4000A peak amperage. Despite that, Gooloo rate their model as good for vehicle engine size up to 12L gas and 10L diesel, whereas NOCO describe their model as suitable for up to 10L gas, and 8L diesel.

Bear in mind, that different companies have different criteria to evaluate which engine sizes it can start.

Both companies use high quality lithium batteries. In our opinion, starting power in practice is roughly equal for the two products.

The Gooloo model has a much bigger capacity, 20,000mAh, compared to 6750mAh for the NOCO unit, meaning the Gooloo battery is able to hold a lot more charge and is likely to last much longer on standby. Gooloo reckon it’ll last as long as 24 months on standby. We reckon this is very optimistic, not something you should rely on. Even 1 year on standby without needing a charge would be excellent.

The GT4000S will take on a full charge in 1.2 hours – that’s less than half the time, compared to the GBX155 (2.7 hours).

The Gooloo unit gets a better score from online marketplace users, averaging 4.5 and with 81% 5-star reviews, compared to 4.2 and 73% for the NOCO booster.

The GT4000S is less than one third of the price of the GBX155.

Now we jump to some absolute monster jump boxes.

Here we compare the two biggest models offered by both brands.

Gooloo GT6000 vs. NOCO GB250

Gooloo’s largest model is the 6000A behemoth, the GT6000, while NOCO’s largest model currently available is the 5250A NOCO GB250.

Despite Gooloo’s unit having a higher peak amperage, they rate it for all gas vehicles and up to 12L diesel vehicles, whereas NOCO claim the GB250 will start vehicles up to 16L for both gas and diesel.

As always, these are estimates, and there are no guarantees a jump starter will work, even if the engine size is comfortably within the maximum recommended size.

The battle between the Gooloo GT6000 versus the NOCO GB250 takes on familiar ground, that is if you’ve read the previous versus battles on this page. That is, the Gooloo model is much smaller and lighter.

We can reasonably assume that the Gooloo model has larger capacity (given NOCO don’t expressly state the capacity of the GB250).

In common with the previous comparisons, both models are reviewed superbly well on online marketplaces, and the Gooloo product is very much lower cost than the NOCO product.

For this high-power battle, we reckon Gooloo have produced a NOCO-beater.

FYI: it wasn’t relevant for this article, but Gooloo do also have some specialised models, such as a jump starter for diesel trucks, and a combined booster/air compressor.

Choosing a winner in this category was mighty tough, but with their excellent lithium technology and great value, we have to just give the edge to Gooloo.

Gooloo vs NOCO Summary

Thanks for reading Gooloo vs NOCO!

Hope we were able to help with your decision, presumably since you’re reading this article, you are trying to decide which company’s product will be better for your needs.

NOCO are a very well-established automotive accessory maker, and they focus on battery products, like jump starters and chargers. They have a ton of history and a very strong reputation in the automotive market.

Gooloo are the new kids on the block, relatively speaking (but not *that* new, they were established in 2014). But they have quickly grown to be one of the top sellers of jump starters in the US. They have built a good reputation for the quality of their products. For more on that, check out our Gooloo reviews.

Like NOCO, battery-related products are one of their key focuses, and it’s easy to see that this focus is paying off. The jump starter market is a competitive one, with plenty of cheaper products launched by makers of personal electronics products. That’s not Gooloo – they have proven themselves to be the real deal, with powerful, reliable boosters.

NOCO have a brand following to match their status in the market, while Gooloo have grown quickly – they’re still a fair way behind for now in terms of brand reputation.

We evaluated Gooloo vs NOCO jump starters in multiple head-to-head battles. The winner, overall, was perhaps a surprise one. David beating Goliath.

But Gooloo have shown that their products are a match for, or at least very close to, NOCO in terms of battery boosting power, longevity, and product quality. And yet their boosters are longer lasting on standby (often with much higher capacities), have similarly strong online marketplace reviews, and are much lighter and smaller.

Gooloo’s jump boxes are often around one third of the price, or even less, compared to the equivalent NOCO unit.

They also have more powerful device charging capabilities (many NOCO models don’t have any ability to charge devices via USB-C). Though we’d call that a bonus instead of an important factor.

Check out the full Gooloo range here.

Or check out NOCO’s range here.

Overall? Choose NOCO for their long-proven excellence, and prestige. Choose Gooloo for their powerful, up-to-date lithium cells and boosting technology (and phenomenal value).
